The Perrin Pickin' Party, formerly called Harps, Hammers and Friends, started in 2005 when an autoharp and hammered dulcimer player wanted to get together with a group of friends in the dead of winter and play music.
Mitchell Park provided the wonderful venue, because regardless of the weather outside, the buildings were toasty warm inside. The coffee was always hot and fresh and there was plenty of food, fun, music and conversation to keep everyone happy.
In the 8 years since, we have evolved into a one-of-a-kind festival. Whether you play autoharp, banjo, dobro, fiddle, dulcimer or anything else with strings, you will find a place in the circle where you are welcomed.
There are International champions here that are always happy to teach a lesson or two. So whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, come on out to Perrin for a good time.
